ST. CAST SUNSET 16"x 13" oil on canvas $1,000
The end of each day brings an expansive
spectrum of light, firstly deepening and enhancing colors, then
narrowing the tones into multiple shades of orange, amber, gold,
and finally into cooler, darker, tones. This unique moment, as
the sun touches the horizon, between day and night, is the perfect
time to be still and absorb the majesty of gods palate. This
lone fisherman, not much more than a shadow, becomes an integral
part of this transition, along with the gulls playing nearby.
The cool water becomes almost violet and grey while the sun takes
on an orange halo. A bit of heaven just before nightfall,
caught forever here between impressionism and surrealism, provides
a resting place for the eye and the mind. One can almost
feel the world slowing down, the wind calming, the temperature
lowering, and the hope of one more catch before heading home.
